Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have under Act 843.
Last updated: 12 August 2026
1. Who is responsible for your data
Moovon Insure operates Moovon SpreadPay™ and is responsible for the personal data collected through this website and the SpreadPay application process. We handle personal data in line with Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
2. What we collect
- Identity data: your name, Ghana Card number and the details returned by the NIA verification check, and the live selfie captured at onboarding.
- Contact data: phone number, WhatsApp number and email address.
- Vehicle and policy data: vehicle details, the policy type you are buying and the insurer you have chosen.
- Payment data: your mobile money wallet or card details used for the deposit and repayments, and your repayment history.
- Enquiry data: anything you send us through the contact form or WhatsApp.
3. Why we use it
- To verify your identity, which is a requirement before any policy can be financed.
- To assess and set up your SpreadPay plan and pay your premium to your insurer.
- To collect your repayments and administer your plan, including payment reminders.
- To answer your questions and provide support.
- To meet our legal, regulatory and anti-fraud obligations.
4. Who we share it with
- Your chosen partner insurer — the details needed to issue and maintain your policy.
- The National Identification Authority — for Ghana Card verification.
- Payment providers — mobile money and card processors handling your deposit and repayments.
- Regulators and authorities — where we are legally required to disclose.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party marketing.
5. WhatsApp conversations
Much of our support happens on WhatsApp. Messages you send us there are delivered through WhatsApp’s own service and are subject to WhatsApp’s privacy terms as well as ours. We keep those conversations as a record of your enquiry. Please do not send full card numbers or passwords over WhatsApp.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your plan and identity records for as long as your SpreadPay plan is active, and afterwards for the period required by Ghanaian financial and insurance record-keeping rules. Enquiries that do not become applications are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
7. Your rights
Under Act 843 you can ask us to confirm what personal data we hold about you, to correct data that is wrong, to delete data we no longer have a lawful reason to keep, and to stop using your data for marketing. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by law.
8. Keeping your data safe
Access to identity and payment data is restricted to the staff who need it to run your plan. Verification and payment steps are handled through the providers named above rather than stored loosely by us.
9. Cookies and this website
This website is a set of static information pages. It does not set advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in future, this section will be updated first.
10. Changes and how to reach us
We will update this notice when our practices change, and the date at the top will change with it. For any privacy question or request, use the contact details below.
